Due to safety concerns, HDI Insurance does not share policy information over e-mail contacts. Your insurance agent is the most suitable source for information pertaining to your insurance.

In Home insurance, what are the assets guaranteed by the insurance?

HDI Home Insurance guarantees the structure, its annexes and all of the home’s contents, including machinery, furniture, utensils, equipment and amenities.

In Home insurance, how can I define the insured value?

First and foremost, it is necessary that you know the reconstruction value for your home, along with the value of your assets. Adding those values, you will have the limit value for coverage of fire, lightning strike and explosions of any nature.

For other guarantees, it is important to evaluate your needs so the policy can be properly composed.

Yes, except for windows with artistic applications, such as sand blasted glass or stained glass.

What is included in Familiar Liability?

Reimbursement of expenses related to damage repair to third parties, by the insured, spouse, children and employees. The scope of this coverage is nationwide.

How does the Loss or Payment of Rent coverage work?

In case of a claim covered by the policy that makes the estate’s use impossible, the coverage will work under the following conditions:

When the insured is the property owner, the indemnity will cover any rent expenses he may have to pay to a third party, if the rental of another property is needed. It also covers the rent that he may fail to receive, in case the leasing contract does not have a clause leaving the lessee responsible for the continued payment.

If the insured is the lessee, the insurance will cover the payment of the rent to the proprietor if the contract obligates the continued payment after the occurrence of a claim.

In Home insurance, in case of theft or robbery, how should I proceed?

First and foremost, we recommend that you keep your property protected after the claim. In the case of residential buildings, who is responsible for hiring insurance?

The liquidator is responsible for contracting insurance for buildings, which should also count with the agreement of the shareholders at a meeting.

What is included in the Condominium Liability coverage?

This insurance includes reimbursement of expenses the condominium may be legally liable, as well as personal and material damage caused involuntarily to third parties.

What is included in the Condominium Manager Liability coverage?

Reimbursement of expenses for which the manager is liable, both involuntary damage caused during the term of the contract or damage due to the non-fulfillment of his duties, negligence, mistakes or omissions committed during the exercise of his functions and from which damage may be caused to residents or third parties.

What is included in the Garage Liability coverage?

Reimbursement of expenses for which the condominium may be liable, such as damage involuntarily caused to vehicles of third parties which may be under its responsibility and care, according to the contracted coverage.

In case the condominium’s caretaker becomes sick, can I request the Substitute Caretaker service?

Yes. This service may only be requested when, in case of a claim under policy coverage, the caretaker becomes physically affected and temporarily unable to perform his duties.

In Company insurance, how can I define the Warranty Limit value?

The Warranty Limit’s calculation considers some items related to your company. With that in mind, it is important for you to know the reconstruction value of your company and the value of its contents (machinery, furniture, utensils, merchandise and materials). After adding these values you will have your Warranty Limit. This sum is the perfect amount for you not to worry with insurance in case of a total loss in the fire coverage. For other coverages, it will be necessary to evaluate your needs to properly compose your insurance.

In which cases may my company use the 24-Hour Assistance?

The HDI 24-Hour Assistance services may be used in the following situations:

                       

Services in case of Predicted Events

HDI’s Company 24-Hour Assistance service provides a complete help infrastructure, with several services at your disposal, even if not contracted in your insurance policy. For example, if you did not contract a Theft or Robbery insurance, but in case of a robbery attempt a lock has been damaged, you may call a locksmith. The Predicted Events are as follows:

  • Theft or Robbery
  • Fire/Lightning Strike/Explosion
  • Electrical damage (electrical surge)
  • Landslide/Windstorm/Hail/Smoke
  • Flood (water damage originating from ruptures or clogging in the internal water network)
  • Vehicle impact/Aircraft crash

 

In case of any of these events, you may request: locksmith service, cleaning service, safety and surveillance, furniture transference, furniture storage, plumbing, temporary roof cover, computer rental, vehicle retrieval, retorno antecipado, temporary walling.

Services in case of Emergency Problems

Some assistance services may be used even though there has been no Predicted Event. We call these events Emergency Problems, which are unexpected events caused by material damage or wear in the insured property. For these cases there is immediate service in order to avoid further damage or to diminish its consequences, in an exclusively reparatory character. Some examples: locksmith service, plumbing, wiring, among others.

Company Check-Up

This service offers professional help for preventive maintenance on your company, including, if technically viable, small repairs, revisions or installation of the following services: air conditioning cleaning, steel door cleaning and lubrication, door sill maintenance, tetra lock installation, door lubrication, peephole installation, intercom installation, fire extinguisher inspection.

Virtual Office

This service provides infrastructure for the maintenance of business, according to the user’s needs and particular specifications. This may be requested in case of temporary impossibility of use or residence in the property due to theft or robbery, fire/lightning/explosion, electric damage (due to electric surge), landslide, windstorm/hail/smoke, flood (water damage due to sudden and unexpected rupture or clogging of internal water network), vehicle impact and aircraft crash.

The Virtual Office, in these cases, may provide: work station, fax center, phone service, meeting room, training room, secretary, receptionist, courier.

 

What are other advantages offered by HDI for your Company?

Several coverage options, unique insured budget by contracted coverage (guaranteeing constructions, machinery, equipment, furniture, merchandise and materials), as well as discounts for installed fire and robbery protection systems, policy renewal bonus, fidelity discount for HDI insurance renewals, optional no-fault insurance with discounted premiums, competitive prices and the possibility of dividing your premium in installments.

How do I cancel my insurance?

The HDI receives and immediately processes the request for cancellation made by the SAC.

The cancellation process shall be performed by your insurance broker or through the SAC.

The cancellation request will be allowed and provided to the consumer by all means available to hire the service.

Considering the need to protect the safety of the insured and of mutuality against possible fraudulent order cancellations, HDI may, without prejudice to the immediate processing of the cancellation accomplished through the SAC, ask the consumer to forward e-mail, letter or make contact with your broker insurance to reaffirm the request for cancellation made by the SAC.

The HDI also points out that the eventual receipt of payment slip for payment of the premium, after the cancellation request should be disregarded; and that any charges made to bank account or the insured's credit card after the request for cancellation will be reversed.

Faced with the possibility of performing payment of premium by installments (payment slip, direct debit and / or credit card), the HDI will effect its cancellation notice to financial institutions.If the request for contract cancellation is made after the issuance and delivery of recovery order, the HDI reports that the reversal will be held within fifteen (15) days from the date when the direct debit; or, at the next monthly bill credit card without any financial loss to the insured.

For cases where there is any proceeding in loss adjustment at the time of cancellation request of the insurance contract, the insured will be guided by the clerk of the SAC awaiting the completion of the claim regulation and their respective closing, to then proceed to the cancellation.
