HDI Social

HDI wants to contribute to make the world a better place, and we know that our responsibility goes beyond the offering of products and services that guarantee safety and tranquility to our clients.

With this in mind, we strive to participate in several social actions, sponsoring and helping institutions that are aligned with our world vision. Learn more about some of them:

Já Brasil (http://www.ajars.org.br)
Junior Achivement is the largest educational institution of practical economy in the world, working with the help of schools and companies, in a partnership that helps at least 6.5 million young people in 112 countries every year.

Instituto Pró-Queimados (http://www.proqueimados.com.br)
The Instituto Pró-Queimados is a nonprofit non-governmental organization, which has as its mission contributing to improve the assistance of child, teenage and adult burn victims, encouraging and strengthening research. In 2004, HDI Seguros helped sponsoring Natal do Bem (“Good Christmas”), a dinner and benefit auction ran by celebrities, aiming to raise money for several organizations.

GRAACC / McDia Feliz (http://www.graacc.org.br)
HDI Seguros contributes annually distributing Mc Dia Feliz (“McHappy Day”) tickets to its employees. This is a national campaign, promoted by McDonald’s, who benefits institutions responsible for the treatment of children with cancer. In São Paulo, the recipient institution is GRAAC - Grupo de Apoio ao Adolescente e à Criança com Câncer (“Support Group for Children and Adolescents with Cancer”).

Campanha do Agasalho - Pirapora do Bom Jesus/SP
Since 2007, HDI Seguros, along with the Secretaria de Desenvolvimento Econômico e Promoção Social de Pirapora do Bom Jesus (“Secretariat for Economic Development and Social Promotion of Pirapora do Bom Jesus”), supports the Campanha do Agasalho (“Winter Clothing Campaign”), periodically donating 500 blankets to the deprived communities of that region.

Cultural Project
In 2008, HDI Seguros sponsored a project about environmental preservation: the “As Duas Margens no País das Águas Amigas” (“The Two Riverbanks in the Country of Friendly Waters”) book collection, a six-book narrative full of magic, folklore and Brazilian culture. Each volume has as its theme an important Brazilian river: Tietê, Paraná, Jacuí Guaíba, Itajaí-Açu, Araguaia e São Francisco.
In a partnership with the Abook publisher, there was a donation of 7 thousand copies of the collection to several cities’ municipal education networks.

In 2009, HDI Seguros also sponsored the release of the “Planeta Água” (“Water Planet”) book, from the Arte Ensaio Editora publisher. This book explains, in a simple and fun way, the importance of rivers, oceans and wells, all while exploring Brazilian water-related legends. In this initiative, 6.800 copies were donated to schools and public libraries from the main regions of Brazil. In the city of São Paulo, the books were delivered to the Secretaria Municipal de Cultura (“Municipal Secretariat of Culture”) and can be found in 45 CEU (Centro Educacional Unificado, or “Unified Educational Center”) centers, libraries, reading areas, library-buses and library groves.

Social Project - Divisão de Educação e Reabilitação dos Distúrbios da Comunicação
In a partnership with the DERDIC institution (“Division for Education and Rehabilitation of Communicational Disorders”), HDI Seguros started a project promoting occupational training for young people with alterations in hearing, voice and language who face a greater challenge when looking for job opportunities. The courses are focused in administrative routines and the students’ performance is monthly tracked by HDI through reports sent by the institution.

Along with encouraging its employees to take part in charity events, HDI also supports an important initiative:

HDI Seguros Choir
The HDI Choir was created in 2010 with the participation of its employees, under the artistic direction of conductor Vera Novack. Today, one of the greatest prides of this initiative, other than the group’s cultural increase, were the moments of leisure and a powerful collective channel for creative expression.
